There is a high amount of eating disorders and body image distress among athletes. Numbers (like macros and calorie counting) can increase obsessiveness and eating disorder symptomatology. Instead, we use The Plate-by-Plate Approach® when working with our athletes.

PAGE 1 explains how how and why athletes can work on balance, volume, timing, consistency, and variety - all of which help to elevate their sports performance goals.
PAGE 2 explains why each food group (grains, proteins, fruits/vegetables, fats, and dairy or dairy alternative) are helpful for athletes in reaching peak performance.
The Plate-by-Plate Approach® is meant to be used along side of guidance from a registered dietitian.
